Mara Simmons

Educator Enthusiast Loving To Share

Mara has 25+ years of experience teaching and learning.  Her career has been centered in schools in underprivileged communities and served as a teacher/ founder/ leader and director of several secondary schools in Los Angeles. For the last five years she revitalized a teacher training program in Oxford, UK. Most recently she started an Ed-Tech company developing tools to help manage career and professional assets along with beginning to design a nomadic school. She has a keen interest in school structure and design and studied the levers to improve student achievement within a school setting.

Each image will lead you to a treasure trove of resource on a common theme. Much has been trialed by Mara and proven effective for her. The order of tiles is in relation to demand so it may feel a bit random; organized chaos was how many described her classroom practice- so this site reflects that a bit. In addition she will keep her blog on the left column with updates and more resource.

Re-Imagine Education Blog

Here you can go for Mara’s latest thoughts re: education and its future. Within each entry there will be a lot of resource and tools for others to tinker with their ideals towards education as an educator, parent, concerned citizen…
